WHAT’S HAPPENING AT YOUR VA

The Central Virginia VA Health Care System and its community-based outpatient clinics are actively screening everyone at entrances to ensure that we are maintaining as safe an environment as possible. We have also temporarily suspended visitation to the Community Living Center and Spinal Cord Injury & Disorder units and all 4th floor units until further notice.

Additionally, we ask that patients bring only one essential caregiver/family member with them to their appointment unless they need assistance ambulating or wayfinding due to a health or mental condition. If a patient needs assistance, then they will be permitted a plus one (and only one; others will be asked to remain outside the facilities). No visitors to any inpatient ward except to see critically ill patients who may be toward the end of life (this will be the attending physician’s decision). Only one visitor at a time will be permitted to see a critically ill patient. If possible, the critically ill patient should be limited to one visitor daily.

Visitors are not to come socialize, shop, eat, etc. at our facilities. Staff may come to work, patients may come for an appointment, and contractors may deliver supplies and perform work, but everybody else needs to stay away from the premises until further notice unless you have official business to conduct. At this time children under the age of 12 are currently not being permitted to enter our facility.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
