The application thus has tons of features, so it could be a bit difficult to get along with it if you're not an experienced user. • I downloaded, unzipped and started to install the program. At first it warned about finding an older version of BWmeter and that it needs to be completely removed. It also required me to uninstall all the info and statistics too and I foolishly did so without exporting the data to some other folders at least. After all these I began installing the 4.1.1 once more. It wasn’t progressed halfway yet that the Windows XP warning message about the non certified program or the program has not passed the Windows logo (or sth like that as I hadn’t seen that warning message for ages) appeared. Although it felt absolutely strange, I clicked the continue anyway but the warning reappeared! Anyway, I kept continuing and it kept popping up till guess what, my PPPoE connection disconnected. I clicked on it to reconnect and boom! “Error 769: The specific destination is not reachable” was the only thing I was receiving! The BWMeter 4.1.1 installation window has also disappeared without being installed at all! I couldn’t breath and was feeling like crying. I decided to restart the Windows as there was nothing to uninstall and wait for a miracle to happen and that very miracle was the XP “last known good configuration” option. Oh my dear God,I chose it and everything got back to normal. I searched through my backup discs and happily found the good old BWMeter 2.4.2. It installed like a charm and is running now.
  • Couldn’t see the meter with browser open – had to go back to desktop screen to read it … Double-clicking on the system-tray icon would bring up the BWMeter control panel which was ok though i really would prefer the BarGraphMeter to pop-up instead..
  • Do all i need and has simple ui.
  • GUI is not as intuitive as Netmeter.
  • I am a proud user of BWMeter 2.4.2 (a 5 star product). It’s a great companion as it shows and controls both the traffic and the bandwidth used and keeps track of how much you have downloaded/uploaded (as hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly statistics) since the program was installed and used. After two years of nonstop using of BWmeter 2.4.2, today it crashed and hanged. As I couldn’t find its original pack to reinstall, decided to give its latest version (4.1.1) a try instead (please read below)
  • the skin should be worked upon to make it look more attractive.
  • I liked the idea of offering 2 Upload-Download meters – One for LAN and the other for the internet. All the statistics one could want was excellent !!

  1. The configuration is a little difficult for the novice. If you know anything about computers at all, the setup is easy. Don’t be intimidated by other reviews. It’s not that hard.

  2. It forever has bugs with the registration, then it is not able to recognize even very well-known songs.

  3. Thank you for the report. The built-in check for viruses at Software Informer has detected that the program is clean. Kindly specify the antivirus you make use of.

  4. To set some of the controls to AUTO you have to buy Upgrade, BUT it keeps you in control of your own choices!

  5. After you have downloaded the installer, it must then download a 10mb update, and decompress the music (which takes about 10 minutes), the camera angle soon gets annoying and you have to pay to play on servers at weekends and busy times!

  6. Everything about it since I can’t get it to download and install. I also don’t like the fact that it forces their Photo Album program on you.

  7. The best thing about Babylon is that it provides translations directly from any document or web page, so you won’t need to open a separate program.

  8. Only finds byte-for-byte dups I believe, but I think you would have to pay for anything that looked for similar pics, say.

  9. I downloaded Adobe Reader DC from the which installed it on my Windows 10 desktop PC. It will not open the program or a PDF. Best solution I found on the various forums was to change the security setting in the Adobe Reader preferences. But how can I do that when the program doesn’t even open?

  10. Used it once with one of its pre-set selections to converted “mts” format to “DVD NTSC” (MPEG2) but did not convert correctly. Moving objects appear with coarse pixels. Output quality needs improvement.

  11. Latest update auto-installed Smart Defrag and some Start Menu modification software. I didn’t ask for this, I didn’t chose auto-install (it was an update, not a new install) and I was never prompted for confirmation. After years of using and trusting IObit, I am now uninstalling this garbage. Programs like these are supposed to prevent unauthorized changes to your PC, not facilitate them and much less do it themselves. That, to me, is a line that should never be crossed. IObit is now and will forever be banned from my PC.

  12. The problem I had was that about half of the album information it pulled off the internet was incorrect. Not worth $35 for a full version.

  13. Used to be a good free program, which is why I upgraded to the shopping cart version (which they advertise is free). Well, I guess the download is free. But cannot be used except if you purchase hosting from them. I’ve received several emails from them asking how I liked it, to which I tried to reply. The emails always bounce back. So went to their support system online. Same result. Why would anyone wish to purchase an item that was deceptively advertised to begin with and their hosting is so poorly maintained that they don’t notice after 6 weeks that their email links STILL don’t work!

  14. Seems to be a size limit on files it can handle. After transcoding from a one click on a youtube video it displays another screen asking if you want to convert the file it has just converted??

  15. With the trial version I did not get a response to a technical support problem. — The Registry Cleaner was wiping out some files needed for Incredimail. After purchase, response was great

  16. Didn’t even find the free product??? Just got a message that we had 78 min. to use the free one??

  17. Adobe’s PostScript language and Type 1 fonts, combined with the Apple Macintosh, Aldus PageMaker, and the original Apple LaserWriter, launched the “desktop publishing revolution,” and I love Adobe Photoshop. Unfortunately, Adobe discontinued Aldus’ PageMaker after acquiring it, which I believe was the same fate for Aldus FreeHand — because Adobe had InDesign (new and NOT PageMaker) and Illustrator (for which FreeHand was the only real competition). Adobe seems to have had major problems maintaining the stability, security, and compatibility of the products it acquired from Macromedia. The browser plug-ins for Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Shockwave (which I’ve found to be superfluous and do not install) are always cause FireFox to crash. On Linux, I have two free, open-source alternatives, which is not the cash on Windows (although the open-source alternatives cane easily be compiled and used with Mac OS X if you have XCode installed). I use the FlashBlocker add-on with Firefox, enabling Flash on the rare occasions that I want to watch a Flash video — with the added benefit of disabling Flash-based “Web bugs” and advertisements. I realize that Adobe has to create an ActiveX-based Flash BHO for Internet Explorer and that the Flash plug-in for Firefox is a DLL, but I rate Flash Player and Shockwave very poorly, because of the stability and security issues. Fortunately, I don’t use YouTube very often. (Have you ever learned anything from the grainy and over-compressed computer/software tutorials on YouTube based upon capturing screen activity and text that you cannot see or read?) I miss the days when Web-based videos were in QuickTime, WMV (or AVI), and RealVideo format, because Web designers created different sizes and compression levels to accommodate the wide range of analogue modems and pre-DSL-and-cable-modem “true” broadband connections in use (focusing on 14.4k and 56k/V.90 modems, and offering large streams of high quality to users with the luxury of T1/T3 connections). Ironically, QuickTime, WMC, and Real (audio and video) Player still exist (and fight for file formats on Windows systems), but Flash content is seemingly omnipresent. Fortunately, VLC — a free, open-source media player that handles almost every format (including DRM DVDs) — has a browser plug-in (for multiple platforms) and continues to evolve, although it does have trouble buffering WMV files and often downloads large ones rather than playing them as the “stream.” I was excited when Adobe announced its “open-source” Flex for Flash content on the Web, but it is an expensive, closed product. Real has an open-source server product, Helix, to allow Linux servers to offer Real content, which is a postive step. I wish that Adobe would open up the Flash format, even if it simple released the format/standard and developers had to create Flash content by hand-coding ActiveScript and previewing it in Flash Player. Adobe would benefit from open-source licensing, because any improvements to the ActionScript language would be released for free and improve the Flash infrastructure. (Of course, if Adobe were to use the open-source improvements to ActiveScript, it would be legally bound to release the code for improved releases of ActionScript — which still would benefit Adobe and users, especially Web developers who cannot afford Flash development tools. As soon as there is a viable alternative to Flash for Windows (which I will remove from this computer as soon as the warranty has expired), I feel obligated to install Flash. NOTE: I use the freeware program, Secunia PSI, which automatically checks and installs updates to ensure that I am always running the most current versions Flash and other major applications. There are other similar tools available, all free for personal use, although I do not recommend that you run them in the background unless you have an “always on” broadband connection and a reasonably fast computer.

  18. None, if you want to get rid of About:Blank. Not appropriate as a stand-alone spyware protection program.

  19. Crap Interface, Alot of pop-ups and viruses on the files, crashes you computer alot and does not give info about what you are downloading. I Suggest you get ARES or BEARSHARE. them to do not have pop ups and fast at downloading. Them 2 Do Have A Good Interface!!

  20. In the trial version, you’re only allowed to convert one half of one song ! I couldn’t believe it, wot’s the point ! Just made me waste my time, and probably buy a rival audio converter.

  21. Forces you to have an ugly folder on your desktop where your downloads go. Can’t put the folder anywhere else, must be in desktop.
