Recording mode

You can use this software utility in order to record sounds from the computer's microphone or line in. The controls are basic and the output file can be either MP3 or WAV. If you want to listen to an OGG file after the conversion you can use the built-in OGG player.

ID3 tag editor

The application includes other interesting features such as the ID3 tag editor that allows you to change the ID3 information for MP3 files. However, the editor includes only basic information, such as the title, the artist, the album, the year and the genre. These fields are enough for most users since they are the most frequently used by media players.

Rip audio CDs and normalize volume

When extracting tracks from an audio disc you can activate the normalization function that brings the volume of every track to the same level. Advanced users can also adjust the conversion settings by changing the bitrate or the number of channels.

Performance and final thought

When you convert the tracks to MP3 the conversion time can be adjusted by decreasing the sound quality. In our case, with default settings, it took about 10 seconds to convert a 3 minute track. The resource usage is insignificant so you do not have to stop your normal activity when you need to rip a CD.

  • It includes a recording option
  • The program is free to download and use
  • You can set individual options for each output format
  • You can choose among several audio output formats
  • Almost all built-in sound players have audio extraction and conversion options, which make this program redundant
  • Small download size, free, easy to use, convert Music CD to WMA and MP3 at the same time.
  • It just was a total waste of my time.
  • Interface is simple and easy. CDDB function works.
  • it is free
  • not yet used.
  • Small download, free, simple interface, no useless extras.
  • I like the fact that it has an easy to understand UI, and relatively good perofrmance.
Free CD to MP3 Converter codes

This freebie CD ripping software might not be the speediest on the scene, but conversion to MP3 audio files gives it a boost. If you opt for MP3, you may wait around longer than you’d like, as the program first extracts songs to temporary WAV files before converting them to the compressed codec. In our tests, the application had no trouble obtaining track information from the Internet. As you might expect, the program lets you set the bit rate and use VBR compression, but the ability to normalize tracks is a welcome surprise. Ditto for the audio-conversion and recording tools, which are quite basic but still work just fine.

  1. 9.99 a month for unlimited plays , but you get 25 a month for free with no obligation, you dont even have to register

  2. The puzzles generated give you no logical solution pattern. Most I finished don’t even have a unique solution.

  3. I have a CD that comes with the archeological Bible and it is no longer working. I wonder if I can get a replacement.

  4. It’s not a good program and what I dislike the most was the limited options in the FIX “menu”, the program doesn’t give you any options and you really don’t know how the problem was solved.

  5. The interface takes way too much time to get used to. No way to EASILY exclude files and folders. Should have a “Browse” button.

  6. Need to have microsoft office installed on the computer to use the drag and drop of metrics in the report designer to create some custom reports.

  7. About half the time I copy a movie there is a problem with the new disc. But the biggest problem with this is that I don’t always no until half-way into watching the film. What you get from this software is a crap-shoot, and you never know what the real outcome is going to be. I have tried different setting over the last 11 months, on several different burners and players, all with the same results. And forget about their inept and callous tech support staff in Asia.

Here’s the bottom line. If you want to buy a bunch of DVD’s and use them as drink coasters, this is the product for you. If you want useable copies of your DVD’s… forget it. Here are some of the bad copies you’ll get: The first chapter won’t play, but the rest work fine. The disc isn’t recognized by any DVD player. The audio is out of sync, either through all or only part of the movie. Cloner can’t break the encryption. Scenes are missing. And the list goes on and on…

  8. I completely detest any product that virtually blocks a person’s ability to remove it once installed while at the same time attempting in every way possible to FORCE a person to BUY upgrades. Why CNET would recommend this product puzzles me???

  9. Limited functionality seems to be a common thing in most Free-ware. Did run across a huge exception. A program I would even rate 4 stars is on called Gramps. Part of Free community of genealogy … sort of like OPENOFFICE or Gimp. It is EXTREMELY powerful, fast (python driven), but hard to learn, If you have the IQ, that is the genealogy program to have.

  10. I had the advanced version running on my browser for a good 7 or 8 years up until about 2 months ago when it suddenly disappeared for no reason. I clicked on `view` toolbars and apparently it was still in the drop down list (with no check) against it. I clicked on it to view it on the taskbar and all that I’m offered is a disable option? Uninstalled it / re-installed a newer version + still the same outcome, won’t show ? Any ideas?

  11. I have tryed the product and tested deeply for his pretended security capability. I was able to recover files and internet tracks despite of maximum setting set for ereaser pro (part of the program). Many other features was not working properly. But the one related to security was enoug BAD to avoid buying the product since they do not have a refund policy. So you wonder if the rest of the program do actually any good for any computer as pretended. I just e-amail the compagny for support as regard what I hust said above and was told they were all in holiday ????.
