Garmin BaseCamp 4.7.3 setup

The interface is well organized and provides quick access to all the important features. The documentation requires an Internet connection and includes several videos that describe the basic functions. BaseCamp is a must-have tool which can help you take advantage of multiple resources when planning a trip. However, it is designed for the Garmin GPS owners since you need to install at least one map before creating routes. Outdoor leisure or business activities such as travels, hiking, and such are better if they are well planned. This program is designed to help you planning those kinds of activities. It may sound like a good idea, but using this program for that purpose has its drawbacks.

Beside these initial problems, the program does exactly what it promises. You can create a route to travel using it. Nevertheless, the program includes only a very basic world map which shows only general data about each country and region. If you want to get a more detailed view, including roads, highways, streets and satellite images, you will need to purchase and install the corresponding maps. You can also create a New adventure, which is a leisure trip plan, but again, you will need the maps. On top of that, the Trip planner function is not available, as well as other features. As you can see, the program alone is not very useful. To take advantage of all its functions, you will need to purchase maps and/or compatible devices. Nevertheless, you can try it to see it for yourself.

If you use a Garmin GPS and you like sharing your routes, whether by foot, on horse or using all sorts of vehicles such as cars or motorbikes, you can download Garmin BaseCamp patched . This software allows you to play your outdoor activities, organize your data, and share the routes with other people.

Create your routes and share them with your Garmin GPS or other users

This program allows us to view maps, plan routes and trails, and indicate waypoints that we can later transfer to our device. We can create our routes with total freedom, being able to adjust them to our interests and preferences to the max. These are the main features of this program that’s perfect for activities such as hiking and cycling:

FEATURES

Is there any plan to create an Android version of Garmin BaseCamp?

Only the developers hold this information, but given the fact that BaseCamp has been released a long time ago and Android is on the market for a very long time as well, I doubt we will see a version on the Android tablets and smartphones.
I see on the official website of BaseCamp that you can install it only on the Windows and Mac (and their versions): http://www.garmin.com/en-US/shop/downloads/basecamp

The .NET Framework 4.6 is not supported on this operating system. I have Windows 7.

That is wrong because NET Framework can be installed on Windows 7, even for version 4.6.2. I’ve checked the Microsoft website and the Net Framework page, and it says the following:

On Windows 7 systems, the .NET Framework requires Windows 7 SP1. If you are on Windows 7 and have not yet installed Service Pack 1, you will need to do so before installing the .NET Framework.
You probably lack the Service Pack 1 installation. To install it, go to Start and type Windows Update. Install the latest Service Pack for your Windows OS and then you’ll have the possibility to download and install Net Framework 4.6.x.

Is Basecamp compatible with Windows 10?

Garmin BaseCamp is compatible with Windows 10.

How can I save and transfer past 4 years of maps and data to this newer version? I currently have the 2.3.1.0 version transfer.

You have to check the available BaseCamp tutorials from where you can learn how to organize the data, how to upgrade and perform various actions within the application, including backup and restore. Visit the link below to learn more about it.

Hi, On my new PC, I have Windows 10. BaseCamp is simple to install; the global map is functioning. Download of ‘OpenStreetMap’ and ‘OpenFietsMap’ did run without any error. However, BaseCamp only finds the global map and not any of the downloaded maps. How can I resolve this problem? Thanks, Bas.

You need to install the Garmin versions of the OpenStreepMap. Luckily, there is already a website that allows you to do so. Visit the website, select the desired map and download the Lite version. If BaseCamp is running, close it and launch the EXE file. Once the installation is finished, start BaseCamp and use the drop down menu to select the maps source files and it should be displayed.

Hi Stephen, Thanks for your answer.
Unfortunately, this was exactly what I did. I re-tried your steps, but still the same result: in the drop-down menu, only the ‘global map’ is shown.

Can Basecamp be downloaded to an LG tablet with Android? I attempted this many times and it did not work. I do a lot of off road ATV Riding and need to change maps often.

The Basecamp application is not available for Android tablets. I have searched the store and there was nowhere mentioned about the Android operating system. There is also no in information on their website. Only downloads available were referred to the PC and MAC.
There is another page to check all the available apps for Android and iOS: http://www8.garmin.com/apps/

If you have loaded this garmin to a different computer etc, it overwrites the main file to prevent a second use. It has to be copied without running or loading it first.

  1. Was a Napster member when they switched over. Just closed my account, no information on how I could get my money back for the subscription I had remaining. Support is a joke, they are literally giving you the run around. Took me 2 calls to find out I could get a refund then they claimed they made it but it hasn’t shown up on one of my accounts. Then when I tried to figure out where they made the payment they would just keep escalating me from “tier 1” to “tier 2” to “tier 3” close my case and then back to 1. The support company is CSS Corp, which says it is a US company but is staffed entirely by Indians and is absolutely horrible. Sign up with these con artists at your own peril, I didn’t and still got screwed.

  2. Just be very careful when downloading and installing. Read EVERYTHING and only agree to the actual program and you won’t have any problems with unwanted things.
